Step-by-step-Process Of Our Tyre Puncture Repair Service

Here are the steps we follow while conducting a puncture repair:

  • We dismount the punctured tyre from your vehicle and run a thorough inspection to locate the punctured area. We will only continue with the repair process if the tyre is safe for repairs.
  • After marking the affected area, we cut a puncture-channel from both outside and inside (we use a 6 mm carbide mill cutter for this).
  • We clean the affected area and draw inner and outer lines after putting in a patch.
  • Next, we use a dome-buffing-rasps to flatten the curbs.
  • After that, we apply a vulcanisation solution to the buffed area and puncture channel.
  • We insert a plug-and-patch combination to seal the affected area.
  • Next, we use a corrugated-stitchers to roll the reverse side of that repair patch.
  • Then, we use a sealant to seal the plugged and patched area and buffed region and remove the repair patch’s stem.
  • 9. Finally, we will mount the repaired tyre back on the wheel, carry out a wheel balancing check and inflate the tyre with the correct amount of air.

As you can see, this is not the kind of work you should attempt to do at home with a DIY repair set.

Your safety is our top priority!

Our experts strictly follow the BS AU 159 guidelines while conducting puncture repair. Thus, we repair tyres only if they meet the following parameters:

  • The puncture diameter must not exceed 6 mm.
  • There must not be any severe damage on the sidewalls, carcasses, or treads.
  • Your car tyre must have a minimum tread depth of 1.6 mm, which is the legal minimum.
  • Tyre damage due to corrosion or leakage of fluids is not subject to repairs.
  • The tyre must not have any internal or external bulges.
  • A tyre previously repaired using a DIY kit is often not considered safe for repairs.
  • Runflat tyres should not be repaired as they can change their entire structure when driven on without air.

After looking at the list above, you might think your tyre is not good enough for repair. We can assure you that most tyres we see can be repaired, saving our customers good money and avoiding purchasing a new one.

In case a tyre cannot be repaired, we can offer a quality replacement for different budgets.
